Cocky, brash, adventurous,
Self-preservationist. Sylas will do anything to stay alive or to better his current state or predicament. He will lie and cheat, but oddly enough will always keep his word on the rare occasions that he gives it.
He is clever and calculating, always trying to think 5 moves ahead. He is a young elf, but much older than any human; at 124 Sylas has seen enough of Human behavior to know how not to get fooled.
Although he is a thief, pirate, murderer, and brigand; he keeps to a strict personal code of conduct: never harming innocent women, keeping his word when he gives it, never killing for sport or pleasure, never cheating a man that can?t afford it, and always willing to better those less fortunate than he.

Basic facts?Male, 124 years old, Elf, unmotivated follower of Olidammara the God of Rogues.

Family- son of a whore and a traveller of unknown identity, no other known family.

Friends – Various pirates, smugglers, brigands, mercenaries, and a few guards and soldiers. Most notable friends include the smuggler Ben?Amin Salladin, the famous mercenary Broon Ron, and pirates Edward Teach and the late Roderick Dorn the Blackhearted.

Romantic partners- Inessa Swiftblade, currently estranged.

Occupation – After being sold to the Thieves Guild at age 7, Sylas became a very accomplished thief and member of the Guild. He left the Guild at age 21 and became a merchantman sailor, then a smuggler, and then, after being taken captive by the Dread Pirate Roderick Dorn the Blackheart, a pirate. Sylas sailed with Dorn for 3 years until the pirate?s untimely demise during a battle on the high seas where he named Sylas Captain. Sylas took the name Blackheart and kept Roderick?s memory alive for the next 46 years. Eventually he became bored with pirating and left the seas for adventure on land signing up as a caravan guard, a mercenary, and eventually, settling down as a merchant and money lender. Living among Humans allowed Sylas the time to create, grow, and sell various businesses; amassing a huge amount of wealth. He lived comfortably for a few decades before being called back to the sea where he began smuggling again.
